Printing Summer - half day- 24th August 2024

£45.00
sold out

1/2 Day Course, Saturday 24th August 13:00 - 16:30, £45, All levels

This is Summer Special and is suitable for 10 yrs plus. Anyone under 16yrs must be joined by an adult on the course. This class it suitable for 10 years old to 100 years old.

In this workshop we will make monoprints and collographs taking inspiration from found materials collected from nature. A monoprint is produced by painting an image onto a sheet of metal or plastic with printing ink, then placing paper on top and lifting it off again to reveal a one-off print like the flowers in our pictures here. A collograph is made by applying ink directly to found materials and taking a print from it (see the fern and plant images).

All materials will be provided but it would be great if you could collect things from nature that you might like to use as inspiration and to print from such as leaves, shells, flowers and twigs. Make sure you only pick flowers from your own garden or with permission and don’t take too much. We will, however, have lots of material available for those who don’t have time to bring their own inspirations from nature.

We will print using the press as well as using alternative methods of printing that can be used at home too.
