Printing Christmas Cards - half day - 2nd November

½ day workshop, Saturday 2nd November, 13:00-16:30, £45, Suitable for all levels

For participants to explore how to make and print their own christmas cards. We will look at the graphic quality of lino printing and how that lends itself to cards. This will empower you to never have to buy a greetings card again. You will create and leave with an edition of hand made greetings cards. Learn basic lino cutting skills and look at examples of what makes a successful composition. 

1 day workshop, design and cut the lino and using the press and alternative printing methods we will print a set of hand made cards. 

Suitable for all levels

We will supply all materials for the day (card stock, inks, linoblock, tools) 

Schedule for the day

Short tour of the studio,

Introductions and discuss the plan for the day, looking at examples of lino prints as cards

Demo of how to cut safely

1.00 to 5.00

Draw images on to lino taking inspiration from books or pre prepared ideas

Start cutting out the lino

Print demo on the press and demo on how to print with out a press.

What to bring with you

  • Sketchbook/notebook

  • Clothes that you don’t mind getting ink on. Although we will be using water based inks and we have aprons, it’s best to wear clothes that are not precious

  • Drinks and snacks - Tea and coffee is provided but anything else, please bring with you.

What you’ll leave with at the end of the day

  • A set of cards printed by you

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your booking more than 3 weeks in advance we will provide a refund but it would be much better for our small business if you transfer your booking or accept a credit note. To cancel or transfer please email us at marketplaceprintstudio@gmail.com.

If you need to cancel your booking less that 3 weeks in advance we can only refund or transfer your booking in extenuating circumstances. Email us at marketplaceprintstudio@gmail.com to have a discussion about cancelling due to changes of plan out of your control.

If you let us know the day before or on the day of your booking that you can’t make it due to sickness or unexpected circumstances we can provide a credit note only or someone else can come in your place. Just drop us an email to let us know so we can update the booking information.

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone a workshop. If we do this we will try and give a weeks notice and will provide a full refund if you cannot attend the new dates.

Please note: The print studio has limited access and etching involves using hazardous chemicals. The print room environment is not suitable for everyone. Etching classes are unsuitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, those sensitive to chemicals or with breathing difficulties. Contact us if you need more information about the chemicals we use as part of the printing process.
