Monoprinting- Evening Course - 10th October 2024

£35.00

Evening Course, Thursday 10th October, 18:00-20:30, £35, All levels

In this evening workshop we will explore monoprinting. A monoprint is produced by painting an image onto a sheet of metal or plastic with printing ink, then placing paper on top and lifting it off again to reveal a one-off print like the flowers in our pictures here.

Monoprinting is a freeing technique and is a great way to achieve a painterly, accomplished image without getting bogged down or intimidated by using paints like oils.

All materials will be provided but seeing as this is a short class, it would be good if you could think of ideas for what you’d like to make a picture off or bring objects/natural materials to draw and paint from. Don’t worry if you don’t bring anything though, we have plenty of books and inspirations at the studio too.

We will print using the press as well as using alternative methods of printing that can be used at home too.
