Print like Matisse - Saturday 30th August 2025
Half day course, Saturday 30th August 1-4:30pm, £45, All levels

In this workshop participants will create a print inspired by the famous French artist Henri Matisse using various printmaking techniques. You will learn how to use the printing press, experiment with colour and composition and create an artwork based on various works of art by Matisse.
We will provide all the materials for the day.
What to bring with you
Clothes that you don’t mind getting ink on. Although we will be using water based inks and we have aprons, it’s best to wear clothes that are not precious.
Ideas - Please bring with you an image or art work by Matisse you would like to use as inspiration. If you don’t bring an idea or inspiration for your print don’t worry because we have lots of inspirational books and ideas we use as tools for developing an image. But as we have a lot to fit in on the day, it can help to bring along a pre conceived image to make into a print.
Packed lunch - Tea and coffee is provided. Bring your own packed lunch or eat at one of the independent local cafes and bakeries.

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone a workshop. This will occasionally happen if we don’t have enough bookings to run the workshop or in extenuating circumstances. If we do this we will try and give as much notice as possible and will provide a full refund if you cannot attend the new dates.

Please note: The print studio has limited access and etching involves using hazardous chemicals. The print room environment is not suitable for everyone. Etching classes are unsuitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, those sensitive to chemicals or with breathing difficulties.
