Intaglio 10hr course - 4 Evenings - 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th August 2025

£160.00

4 week evening course, 6-8:30pm, £160, Suitable for all levels

Spend 4 evenings over 4 weeks getting to know different processes of Intaglio printmaking from etching, dry point, soft ground, hard ground using zinc plates.

Over this 4 weeks you will have time to develop an image or a series of images and create a body of prints. You will have time to push your practice in new directions and give you the time and space to explore new techniques with guidance and peer mentoring.

Suitable for all levels. This course will have a more collaborative, meandering style where we learn from each other as well as the tutor so that all levels feel supported in their creative exploration.

There will be a set amount of paper allocated per person but more can be bought if the need arises.

What to bring with you

Please bring with you clothes that you don’t mind getting messy. Although we will be using water based inks and aprons will be provided, it’s best to not wear precious clothes.

Ideas - Throughout the course we encourage you to continue researching and compiling ideas for each session. If you don’t bring any ideas or inspiration for each session don’t worry because we have lots of inspirational books and ideas we use as tools for developing an image.

Sketchbooks and pens/pencils - or any materials you like to use for making your artwork. This course is all about experimentation so somewhere to take notes, tape in practice prints, sketch out ideas and write down reflections would be a good way to develop your practice and create a resource for yourself when the course is finished.

Snacks - Tea and coffee is provided. Bring your own snacks.

What you’ll leave with at the end of the course

A range of edition(s) of your prints using different techniques

We encourage you to bring a sketchbook, scrapbook or notebook so you can fill it with reflections, practice prints, technique experimentation, process notes and anything else you learn on the course so that you leave with a resource that is tailored to your artistic learning style.

For this course to run we need a minimum of 3 sign ups. If you book but we fail to reach this number we will review the course and reschedule or cancel. If we cancel or you can’t make the new dates, a full refund will be provided.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your booking we will provide a credit note. To cancel please email us at marketplaceprintstudio@gmail.com.

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone a workshop. This will occasionally happen if we don’t have enough bookings to run the workshop or in extenuating circumstances. If we do this we will try and give as much notice as possible and will provide a full refund if you cannot attend the new dates.

Please note: The print studio has limited access and etching involves using hazardous chemicals. The print room environment is not suitable for everyone.
