Our organic cotton Holly the Herdwick tea towel can be used as a tea towel or cut out and sewn to create your own Herdwick lamb. Holly could be used as a little cushion or ornament, soft toy or door stop depending on what you fill her with. This design is inspired by 1970s “cut + sew” fabrics from the collection of Pollock’s Toy Museum.
The original art work for the tea towel was carved out by hand from a large block of lino at Market Place Print Studio in Cockermouth. Our first release of the tea towels were printed on site but we have since improved the design by partnering with Lorna Wiles Textiles in Cornwall to get the organic tea towels screen printed by hand. We are excited to include a screen printed product in our shop and support another small UK business.
The tea towel is printed on organic cotton. The colour of the tea towel is a natural off-white with black ink print.
Dimensions are approx 80 × 48cm.
Instructions for sewing Holly are printed on the tea towel. Stuffing not included ~ we suggest filling with the offcuts from the rest of the tea towel or other scraps around the home, odd socks, wool or if you want Holly to be heavier you could fill with sand, stones or rice.
