Drawing + Printing Landscapes - Saturday 7th June 2025
1 Day Course, Saturday 7th June, 10:00-16:00, £75, All Levels
Book all 4 spots to get 20% off with code 4TOGETHERDAY
Join us in the elements and explore our local landscape through the prism of the intaglio printmaking technique Dry Point (using a sharp, pointed tool to mark-make directly onto a metal plate). We will venture out into our local area (weather permitting) to observe the natural beauty and grittiness around us, capturing the elemental atmospheres onto metal. We will then return to the studio to ink up the plates and print them using the printing press.
This session is great for beginners to get an idea of intaglio printmaking in a freeing, outdoor atmosphere or for more advanced printmakers to push their skillset in capturing the elements through texture and mark-making.
We are open to suggestions for where we walk to from the studio depending on the needs of the group.
What to bring with you
Warm and comfortable clothing - We will be outside drawing for a few hours so we advise warm clothing, appropriate footwear, gloves (even if its summer, bring them just incase) and waterproofs.
Sketchbook and pencil- These could be useful for doing preliminary sketches before drawing on to the plate.
Packed lunch - Tea and coffee is provided whilst we’re at the studio but bring a flask for the outdoor portion of the day. Bring your own packed lunch or eat at one of the independent local cafes and bakeries.
What you’ll leave with at the end of the course
Edition(s) of your print
