Block Print a Lampshade- Saturday 2nd August

£95.00

Full day course, Saturday 2nd August, 10:00-16:30/17:00, £95, Suitable for all levels

All fabric, inks and lampshade frames will be provided within the workshop cost.

In collaboration with Recreate & Make, we are delighted to offer this full day workshop where you will block print your own fabric in the morning at Market Place Print Studio and then head over to Recreate & Make to turn it into a lampshade.

The morning (10-1pm) will be spent with Emily at the Print Studio, exploring colour, pattern-making, tessellation and repetition through the prism of block printing using lino and rubber stamps. You will learn how to use our range of hand carved stamps to create effective patterns, and if we have time and you wish to do so, you can experiment with carving your own shapes out too.

Then you’ll head over to Recreate & Make in the afternoon (2-4:30/5pm) to create a lampshade with your lovely printed fabric. Learn how to apply the lampshade PVC to get the best out of your fabric, how to attach the rings and create neat rolled edges, amongst a variety of other techniques. By the end of the afternoon you will go home with your very own bespoke lampshade and will have all the skills to create many more!

Emily will be teaching the morning at 21 Market Place, Cockermouth, CA13 9NH

Sarah will be teaching the afternoon at 102 Main Street,  Cockermouth, CA13 9XP

What you’ll leave with at the end of the day
