Join us for this BYOB block printing workshop where you will print your own organic cotton tea towel using our pre-carved botanical themed stamps. You will learn the basic principles of block printing including how a block is made, how to get the right ink consistency for printing onto fabric, how to print onto fabric and approaches to pattern making.
We will not be carving blocks in this carve (please join us for one of our half or full day block printing workshops if you’d like to make your own block) so you are welcome to BYOB and have a relaxing, creative evening.
We will provide the tea towels and all other printing materials.
What to bring with you
Clothes you don’t mind getting ink on. Although we will be using water based inks and we have aprons, it’s best to wear clothes that are not precious.
Ideas - Please bring with you an image or art work you would like to use as inspiration or to transfer to your block. If you don’t bring an idea or inspiration for your print don’t worry because we have lots of inspirational books and ideas we use as tools for developing an image. But as we have a lot to fit in on the day, it can help to bring along a pre conceived image to make into a print.
Snacks and drinks you’d like - Tea and coffee is provided.
What you’ll leave with at the end of the day

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone a workshop. This will occasionally happen if we don’t have enough bookings to run the workshop or in extenuating circumstances. If we do this we will try and give as much notice as possible and will provide a full refund if you cannot attend the new dates.
Please note: The print studio has limited access and etching involves using hazardous chemicals. The print room environment is not suitable for everyone. Etching classes are unsuitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, those sensitive to chemicals or with breathing difficulties. Contact us if you need more information about the chemicals we use as part of the printing process.
