"I connect to landscapes around me through natural dying. When I go for walks I look around and think about all the colours that are hidden within barks, roots and leaves. Natural dying is a slow, reflective process. It calls me to be patient and move in rhythm with nature. Through this gentle process I have time to learn about the stories and imagery of folk and traditional crafts connected to fabric, dying and women creating with the land.
I make quilts from the naturally dyed fabrics. I am drawn to this process because of the radical and community led history of quilts. Building authentic community is a core value of mine and is a big part of my approach to Market Place Print Studio, crafts I make and workshops I teach. ”
